Skoda Yeti suv gains a 5-star rating, Toyota Hiace 4

Australasia’s leading vehicle safety advocate, the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP)today announced a 5-star safety rating for the Skoda Yeti sports utility vehicle.

The Skoda Yeti SUV 5-star rating is based on ANCAP assessments from crash tests by EuroNCAP. The Skoda Yeti has seven airbags as standard.

ANCAP also released a 4-star rating for the 2011 Toyota HiAce van.This 4-star rating applies to vehicles built from 17 September 2011, when improved protection for drivers’ knees was introduced.

Toyota fleet's safety upgrade continues

Toyota’s progress on a safety upgrade for its vehicle fleet continues, with the announcement today by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) of a 5-star safety rating for the Toyota Tarago people mover.

ANCAP Chair, Lauchlan McIntosh, said Toyota had upgraded the Tarago in October last year – introducinga driver knee airbag, Electronic Stability Control and side curtain airbags as standard – and the people mover was recently subjected to an ANCAP pole test.

Holden Barina Wins Five-Star Safety Rating

The Holden Barina (2012 model) has today been awarded a five-star safety rating by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).  The Barina, one of the most popular small cars on the Australian market, scored well after it maintained its structure well during crash testing, in addition to its full complement of air bags, anti-lock braking (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC) and seat belt reminders as standard features.

5-Star bonanza from ANCAP crash tests

The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) today announced 5-star safety ratings for five cars on the Australian market.
The Toyota Rukus, the Hyundai Accent, the Peugeot 508, the Lexus CTH200h and the Volvo V60 have all earned 5-star ratings based on ANCAP crash tests or equivalent EuroNCAP testing.
